At Historic Waxahachie, Inc., we believe in preserving not just the architectural integrity of our downtown, but also the beauty and pride of our public spaces. The Graffiti Abatement Program was created to support downtown property owners by providing financial assistance for proper graffiti removal efforts on historic structures, ensuring Waxahachie remains a welcoming and well-maintained historic district.

About the Program

The Historic Waxahachie Graffiti Abatement Program provides financial assistance to eligible property owners for the removal of graffiti on downtown buildings.

This program is guided by the City of Waxahachie’s Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) and follows all required historic preservation standards and procedures for proper removal and repair.

Eligibility

  • When open, eligible applicants must:
    Own a commercial or historic property within the Downtown Historic Overlay District of Waxahachie
  • Obtain pre-approval from Historic Waxahachie, Inc. before beginning work
  • Follow removal methods approved by the Waxahachie Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC)
  • Submit proper documentation and photos of before/after work for reimbursement
